SATO Academy STEM Night!

Writer: Bmes csulbBmes csulb

We had an incredible time at Sato Academy's STEM Night on Friday, September 20th! The evening was dedicated to inspiring future scientists, from 4th to 9th grade, by showcasing what we do as biomedical engineering students and sharing a variety of projects and devices. Students honed their microscopy skills by imaging plant and insect samples, as well as live "Hydra" specimens, which they even got to name! (Check below to see their creative choices). At our blood pressure station, we had fun with foot races while discussing the factors that affect blood pressure and measuring the changes in each racer.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sato Academy for hosting such a fantastic event, our generous BME faculty for lending us the equipment, and our amazing volunteers who shared their knowledge and experience with the students💛. The night wrapped up with delicious tacos and plenty of laughter🥳!
